This man was so wonderful! Turns out, he was just arriving home from a vacation in Florida the day I left the toilet in his yard. He called, with fear in his voice, "how long has that been in my yard...." thankfully, just a couple hours. He is already on a relay team, and has already donated quite a bit of money- but still donated to us-THANKS!!!
This is in front of one of the teacher's houses. She is such a good sport, a great teacher & a very caring person. We are very lucky to have her & many great teachers in our school. Thanks!!
We started the second toilet going yesterday, and my SIL got to be the first "on-island" recipient after her Facebook comments of "you all in Little Compton enjoy that toilet..."
And just in case you were worried about the toilet taking down the neighborhood, no worries- look what we found just down the road.
Oh- and you remember the story about driver #1 getting pulled over while "out on a delivery;" guess what happened again?!?! Yup, you guessed it, she got pulled over AGAIN for the same thing (don't remind her that her husband is a mechanic!)
Last night, the toilet was dropped at Simmons Store in Adamsville, without incident, I must add.
The kids spent a couple hours outside the store seeking donations, and made over $100; woo-hoo! Here they are posing for the Sakonnet Times photographer, who came to take a picture for a story they are going to run about our toilet fundraising.
If you wake up to find it in your yard, here's the deal. To remove the toilet: $10 insurance you don't get it back: $5 send it to a friend: $10 being one of the lucky toilet recipients: priceless
